Summary

It’s been so long, Warrior… I can feel you…

Is Idina Moorfield going crazy or has an ancient magic found its source?

Her family says she’s not a true Moorfield and will never be good enough for the family business。

Sometimes what looks like the worst day ever, is the beginning of our best adventure。

Idina takes that first step into a new life and gets the hell away from them to forge her own future。

But her calling is the one thing they are the most against。 She joins the military just like Uncle Rick。 The other family outcast。

What is everyone in the Moorfield family so afraid of?

A new Warrior is about to find out the true roots of the Moorfield name。 Nothing will ever be the same。

Special recruitI loved how this young woman with an unknown special ability becomes a recruit in the U。S。 Army。 As she proceeds through basic training and starts to rely on this ability she learns more about herself。

A great foundationThis book is clearly starting off a series and I'm excited to see where it goes。 The characters and description are great。 The story feels like it's moving a little slowly, but I'm guessing it may pick up based on the end of this book。 A great foundationThis book is clearly starting off a series and I'm excited to see where it goes。 The characters and description are great。 The story feels like it's moving a little slowly, but I'm guessing it may pick up based on the end of this book。 。。。more

A bit slow series starterCompared to other series by Martha Carr, this series is a bit slow starting。 It takes a long time to tell the background of how the char think of herself and her denial。

Different but interestingNot what I expected but nevertheless an interesting story。 Lots of action and dialogue。 I read the next installment and if it keeps the groove。

A promising start to a new series This new series so far seems to be based on Earth 。。。。 a world similar to our own。 The story in one sentence- A 18 yr old girl - who may have some kind of power- leaves her family to joins the army 。 The start of the series focuses on the circumstances leading to her joining the army and her basic training 。 And we're only given glimpses of 'how' her 'power' works 。。。。。。 nothing on the why or where it comes from。 A promising start to a new series This new series so far seems to be based on Earth 。。。。 a world similar to our own。 The story in one sentence- A 18 yr old girl - who may have some kind of power- leaves her family to joins the army 。 The start of the series focuses on the circumstances leading to her joining the army and her basic training 。 And we're only given glimpses of 'how' her 'power' works 。。。。。。 nothing on the why or where it comes from。 。。。more

Green lightsIdina is not happy trying to fit in with her family's business of finance。 She wants to be an artist, but her family will have none of it, so she ends up in the army。 She has powers that her family have made her take medication to suppress and finally starts to learn what they are now that she is on her own。 I am looking forward to more of the series to see how her powers grow and what more she can do。 Green lightsIdina is not happy trying to fit in with her family's business of finance。 She wants to be an artist, but her family will have none of it, so she ends up in the army。 She has powers that her family have made her take medication to suppress and finally starts to learn what they are now that she is on her own。 I am looking forward to more of the series to see how her powers grow and what more she can do。 。。。more

This was quite the different story。 I felt like I was back in basic training and my basic was nowhere near as complicated。 The plot is easily followed, the main character quite interesting and the world building is also a bit different。 However, I would not hesitate to recommend this prequel。

Wonderful startLoved this story。 What an interesting family to be a part of I think I would want to be free of them also。 But the military may be kind of extreme。 But it seems like it is the right choice hr her。 She seems to be a natural born leader and a people person。 Looking forward to the next book。

Mesmerizing I picked up this book this morning and read it in one sitting。 This is what I call the set up。 This book introduces Idina。 1。 Who she is。 2。 What she wanted。 3。 Why she wanted。 4。 When things changed。 5。 Where she ended up。 I truly appreciated reading about her time in boot camp。 Some books just say, in she went and now she's out, and on to adventures。 This book definitely is not that。 I read her actions and reactions and know that it will make her adventures that much more interesti Mesmerizing I picked up this book this morning and read it in one sitting。 This is what I call the set up。 This book introduces Idina。 1。 Who she is。 2。 What she wanted。 3。 Why she wanted。 4。 When things changed。 5。 Where she ended up。 I truly appreciated reading about her time in boot camp。 Some books just say, in she went and now she's out, and on to adventures。 This book definitely is not that。 I read her actions and reactions and know that it will make her adventures that much more interesting。 The new adventures are coming and I can't to read them。 Here's hoping this is a long and numerous series。 。。。more

New series, I likeThe opening action was a bit long。 But knowing the authors, I can see where that much back story was needed。 I went through basic just shy of 50 years ago。 The differences between then and now are legion。 Mine was the later VietNam era。 My largest memory was being scared of my DI more than once。 At the end of Basic after passing the PT test, the entire company went thru “Pro Park” and the multiple stations testing our knowledge of equipment and standards。 I was one of 8 which p New series, I likeThe opening action was a bit long。 But knowing the authors, I can see where that much back story was needed。 I went through basic just shy of 50 years ago。 The differences between then and now are legion。 Mine was the later VietNam era。 My largest memory was being scared of my DI more than once。 At the end of Basic after passing the PT test, the entire company went thru “Pro Park” and the multiple stations testing our knowledge of equipment and standards。 I was one of 8 which pasted every station on the first try。 Our reward, a day of KP while the rest of the Company retested on the stations they failed。 。。。more
